The Triple-A All-Star game is tonight. The Tacoma Rainiers are hosting the event for the first time in franchise history. Two members of the Seattle Mariners triple-A affiliate were selected to play in the All-Star game. First baseman Daniel Vogelbach and pitcher Jean Machi will represent the Rainiers on the Pacific Coast League team as they battle the stars from the International League.

According to The News Tribune of Tacoma, the 35-year-old Rainiers reliever ranks fourth in the league in saves with nine. He has a 2.42 ERA in 26 innings. He has struck out 21 hitters, and only walked six.
Vogelbach is batting .280 with ten home runs and 47 RBI this season. He ranks 10th in the PCL in on-base percentage. He leads the Rainiers in RBI and is tied for the team lead in homers with Tyler O’Neill. Vogelbach was one of six participants in the Triple-A Home Run Derby Monday night in Tacoma. He finished in second place.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05pm tonight at Cheny Stadium.
