SEATTLE, Wash. – More people support coal export terminals, like the Gateway Pacific Terminal proposed for Cherry Point than oppose them.

That’s according to a new KUOW Earthfix poll.

According to the survey 47 percent of northwest residents say they favor coal export terminals.

That’s an increase compared to the same survey conducted last year.

34 percent object to coal exports and 19 percent say they don’t know.
