BELLINGHAM, Wash – Ski To Sea 2017 is in the books. The bell was rung first this year by Boomer’s Drive-in  team 94, competing in the competitive open division. Austin Kieffer was the kayaker who did the honors.

Second place overall went to 2016 Whatcom Open Champion Beaver’s Tree Service, team 290, leading the Whatcom County open division.

Team 13, Rudy’s Pizzeria took third overall. Rounding out the top five was team 54, the Inn at Lynden (4th); and team 128 Boomer’s Veterans (5th).

Warm temperatures, plentiful snow on Mount Baker; and calm seas on Bellingham Bay made the perfect weather the big story for this year.
