Seattle Seahawk cornerback Richard Sherman wants to get paid.

According to ESPN.com Sherman told NLF Network, “Whatever they feel I am due. I will take it as respect. It’s all about respect in this game, and the only way people show respect is the dollars. We’ll see what happens.”

The Seattle shutdown corner is scheduled to make $1.4 million this season as he enters the final year of his 4 year rookie contract talks between the Seahawks and Sherman are said to be ongoing but ESPN’s Ed Werder reports, “that the sides are not as close as some reports have indicated.”

Both Sherman and safety Earl Thomas seem to be the team’s priority to sign to long term deals this offseason, but there are more concerns upcoming including starting quarterback Russell Wilson, who eligible for a new contract in 2015.
