Seven county prep football teams in the state rankings

The new high school football state rankings are out.  The Lummi Blackhawks are still the highest ranked team from Whatcom County at #2 in Class 1B.  They visit #3 Sunnyside Christian Thursday.  In Class 1A Nooksack Valley is tied for third with Montesano.  Meridian is #5 and Mount Baker fell from #3 to #7 after last week’s loss to Nooksack Valley.

In Class 2A Lynden is down to #10 after falling to Sedro-Woolley.  In the 3A poll Ferndale remains at #4 and Squalicum is down to #10 after losing to Stanwood.
