Partnership between fire districts starts today

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A revamped Emergency Medical System is starting today in Whatcom County, but 911┬áservices will remain the same.

Tyler Schroeder with the Whatcom County Executive Office says Fire District 7 has now partnered with Bellingham Fire Department to provide ambulance service.

 

He says they dealt with spats between opposing unions along the way, but they made significant progress in the last six months to make it happen.
