Meridian moves up to No. 2 in AP prep football poll

The undefeated Meridian Trojans move up to No. 2 after defeating Lynden Christian in the Associated Press state prep football poll.

Three other Whatcom County teams spend another week in the rankings released Wednesday while one doesn’t make the cut.

Ferndale High School remains at No. 2 in the 3A classification . After a tough loss to Mount Baker, Nooksack Valley drops off the list in the 1A ranks and the Mountaineers stay at No. 9.

The Lummi Blackhawks are 5th in the 1B classification.
