It’s an off day for the Seattle Mariners, but they have been busy making 5 roster moves. The M’s have recalled catcher Mike Zunino and right-handed pitcher Emilio Pagan from triple-a Tacoma.  Catcher Tuffy Gosewisch, pitcher Chris Heston and infielder Daniel Vogelbach have all been optioned to the Rainiers.

Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto announced the moves Monday. Seattle has cleared space for second baseman Robinson Cano to return from the 10-day disabled list due to a quadriceps strain.

Zunino hit .293 with 7 runs, 2 doubles, 5 home runs and 11 RBI in 12 games with Tacoma.  Pagan was 1-0 with 2 saves and a 3.24 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 10 relief appearances with the Rainiers.

Vogelbach went 1-for-3 in his one day stint with Seattle Sunday.

In two stints (April 23-May 2 & May 21) in the Majors this season, Vogelbach has hit .176 with 1 RBI.

Gosewisch was hitting just .071 with 1 run in 11 games with Seattle after being recalled from Tacoma May 5th.

Heston was the starting pitcher for Seattle Sunday. In two stints in the Majors this season, he is 0-1 with a 21.60 ERA with 3 strikeouts.

Seattle opens up a 3-game series versus the Nationals in Washington D.C.  on Tuesday.
