It’s an off day for the Seattle Mariners, but they have been busy making 5 roster moves. The M’s have recalled catcher Mike Zunino and right-handed pitcher Emilio Pagan from triple-a Tacoma. Catcher Tuffy Gosewisch, pitcher Chris Heston and infielder Daniel Vogelbach have all been optioned to the Rainiers.
Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto announced the moves Monday. Seattle has cleared space for second baseman Robinson Cano to return from the 10-day disabled list due to a quadriceps strain.
Zunino hit .293 with 7 runs, 2 doubles, 5 home runs and 11 RBI in 12 games with Tacoma. Pagan was 1-0 with 2 saves and a 3.24 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 10 relief appearances with the Rainiers.
Vogelbach went 1-for-3 in his one day stint with Seattle Sunday.
