The Seattle Mariners have put outfielder Mitch Haniger and pitcher Felix Hernandez on the 10-day disabled list. Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto announced 8 total roster moves Wednesday, one day after Haniger and Hernandez suffered injuries in a match-up versus the Tigers in Detroit.

Haniger (.338, 4HR, 12RBI’s) suffered a strained oblique during an at-bat versus Jordan Zimmermann. He left the game after getting a single and was replaced by Danny Valencia.

Hernandez (2-2, 4.73 ERA) is back in Seattle having his right shoulder checked by team doctors. He pitched just two inning versus the Tigers. Seattle manager Scott Servais used the phrase “dead arm type situation” when he was asked about King Felix’s status during his postgame press conference.

The Mariners called up outfielder Ben Gamel and pitchers Chase De Jong, Casey Fien and Dillon Overton from triple-A Tacoma. Pitchers Chris Heston and Evan Marshall were sent down to the Rainiers.
