The Mariners are back home tonight to start a series with the Kansas City Royals at Safeco Field. The M’s are coming off a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels Sunday. James Paxton retired the first 16 betters he faced. Paxton threw 6 1/3 innings of two-hit ball in his best start since missing most of May with a forearm strain. Robinson Cano hit a three-run homer and Jean Segura continued his hot hitting with four hits and drove in two for Seattle. The M’s took two out of three from their AL-West Rivals.

Andrew Moore will be making his second start for the Mariners tonight against the Royals. The right-hander, 23, is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA with 4 strikeouts and 0 walks in 1 start with the Mariners this season. He made his Major League debut on June 22 vs. Detroit. He earned the win after limiting the Tigers to 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4 without walking a batter over 7.0 innings of work.

Kansas City counters with Ian Kennedy who is 2-6 this season with 4.72 ERA. The Royals are 41-40 on the year in 2nd place in the American League Central.

You can hear tonight’s game on KPUG 1170 AM and 97.9 FM in Bellingham beginning at 6:00pm with the pre-game show and a 7:10pm first pitch.
