Mariners are finally home to start September stretch run

The Seattle Mariners may not recognize it, but they are finally home after their longest road trip of the season. Seattle opens up a three game series versus the Oakland A’s tonight at Safeco Field.

The Mariners just wrapped up a 12-game east coast road swing on a thud. Seattle dropped their last five games to to go 5-and-7 on the trip. The find themselves 4.5 games behind Minnesota in the chase after the second American League Wildcard.

While the surrounding will be familiar, the pitcher on the mound will not be. Seatte (66-68) will give the ball to Mike Leake (7-12 , 4.21 ERA). Seattle acquired the righty in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.

Lefty Sean Manaea (9-8, 4.55 ERA) gets the call for the Athletics (58 75) who  are looking to snap a 3-game losing streak.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10pm. you can hear the game on KBAY 930AM & 98.9FM beginning with the pregame show at 6:00pm.
