Beckham, 31, hit .206 (7×34) with 1 run, 1 double, 1 RBI, 3 walks and 1 stolen bases in 12 games with the Mariners after being selected from AAA Tacoma on May 14. He began the season with Tacoma, where he hit .300 (27×90) with 17 runs, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 15 RBI, 19 walks, a .412 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging mark (.912 OPS) in 25 games. Among Pacific Coast League leaders at the time of his call-up, he ranked T13th in walks and 14th in on-base percentage and OPS.

The 6-foot, 190-pound utility infielder has appeared in 23 games with the Mariners over the course of the last 2 seasons (2017-18), batting .196 (10×51) with 3 runs, 1 double, 1 RBI, 4 walks and 2 stolen bases.

In parts of 10 Major League seasons with Chicago-AL (2009-14, 2015), Los Angeles-AL (2014), Atlanta (2016), San Francisco (2016) and Seattle (2017-c), he is a career .239 (758×3170) hitter with 174 doubles, 5 triples, 74 home runs and 336 RBI in 976 career games.
