SEATTLE (AP) — Washington’s sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals gave the Nationals the distinction of being the final National League team to reach the World Series. Now there’s only one team in the major leagues that has never reached the Fall Classic. The Seattle Mariners have been to three AL Championship Series and were sent home each time. The Mariners have never played beyond Oct. 22.
