Lynden’s Keylie Hershey named 2A Player of the Year

The Associated Press named its Washington high school basketball all-state teams Wednesday.  Four players from Whatcom County were recognized.

Lynden star Keylie Hershey is the Class 2A girls Player of the Year.  Hershey led the Lions to the state championship in Yakima.

Riley Dykstra from Lynden Christian was named first-team all-state in Class 1A.  Dykstra led LC to the state title.

On the boys side Lynden Christian junior Jaden DeBoer is first-team all-state with LC senior Andrew DeVries receiving honorable mention.
