Lynden Christian boys and girls win 1A State Championships; Lynden boys win 2A title

The Lynden Christian boys dominated Freeman 82-45 for the Class 1A state championship at the SunDome Saturday. The Lynden Christian girls followed defeating Cashmere 50-48 to win the 1A state title in the finale of championship games.

The Lynden boys beat W. F. West 57-53 to win the 2A state championship. Christian Zamora led the way with 17 points, Clayton Whitman added 16 and was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.

The Lynden girls finished sixth place at the SunDome Saturday losing to the Black Hills Wolves 51-47. Keylie Hershey had 17 in the loss for Lynden which ends the year with a record of 19-10.
