The Seahawks defensive rebuild continues as DeShawn Shead has signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions for $3.5 million. Seattle had agreed to let Shead test out free agency, and tried to re-sign him, but the defensive back chose to go to Detroit.

Shead, 28, has been with the Seahawks since 2012 when they recruited him as an undrafted free agent, and was part of the Super Bowl campaign in 2013. DeShawn played most of the 2016 season, but tore his ACL in the post-season and only started two games for the Seahawks last year.
