CANTON, Ohio (AP) — The Pro Football Hall of Fame welcomes seven new members tonight. They include running backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Terrell Davis, quarterback Kurt Warner, sackmaster Jason Taylor and kicker Morten Andersen.

The other inductees are Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, a contributor, and Seahawks safety Kenny Easley, a senior nominee.

Tomlinson, who spent nine seasons with the Chargers and two more with the Jets, redefined the running back position. He was as dangerous catching the ball (for 4,772 career yards) as he was running it (13,684).

Davis led Denver to two titles over a career that covered a mere 78 games. In 1998, he became the fourth player to surpass 2,000 yards rushing in a season.

Warner won one Super Bowl and two overall MVP awards while leading “The Greatest Show on Turf” with the Rams.

Taylor played for 15 years, mostly with the Miami Dolphins, and ranks among the greatest defensive playmakers in league history. No player recovered more fumbles or scored more touchdowns on fumble returns, and no lineman scored more on interception returns.

Andersen enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame as the leading scorer in NFL history with 2,544 points. The Denmark native played in a record 382 games during his 25-year career, which began with the New Orleans Saints in 1982.
