Husky women to face UTEP in WNIT Elite 8

The University of Washington women’s basketball team’s journey to the WNIT Final Four continues Monday, March 30 in El Paso, Texas as the Huskies battle the University of Texas-El Paso Miners.

Washington, 20-13, were led by freshman sensation Kelsey Plum’s 21 points and Aminah Williams 17 rebounds and five steals in the Huskies 62-55 win over San Diego in the WNIT Sweet 16.

UTEP, 27-7, is led by Kayla Thorton who averages 19.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. The Miners defeated Colorado 68-60 in the WNIT Sweet 16.

The tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at the Don Haskins Center on the campus of UTEP.

The winner will face South Dakota State in the WNIT Final Four.
