Hommes. Somers lead PLNU to Division Two semifinals

The Point Loma Nazarene University basketball team, led by Whatcom County’s own Daulton Hommes and Sterling Somers, won their opener at the NCAA Division Two national tournament Wednesday night beating Queens University of North Carolina 87-74. Hommes tied for the team lead with 22 points. Somers had nine.

The national tournament is being held in Evansville, Indiana. Point Loma will play local favorite Southern Indiana in the semi-finals Thursday night at 6:30.
