BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The upcoming softball series between the Western Washington University softball team and visiting Northwest Nazarene University has been rescheduled with doubleheaders to be played on Thursday and Friday this week at Viking Field on the WWU campus.

The original schedule had doubleheaders set for Friday (March 2) and Saturday (March 3), but due to inclement weather the series will be moved up to take place on Thursday (March 1) and Friday (March 2). First pitch to begin the doubleheaders is scheduled for 12 pm each day.

The series against NNU will be the conference-opening series for both teams and the first home games of the season for WWU. The Vikings (3-8) began the season at the Desert Stinger Tournament (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Dixie State Easton Classic (St. George, Utah) earlier in the month.

The doubleheaders against NNU are two of five consecutive conference doubleheaders at home for the Vikings to begin the GNAC schedule. Following the series against the Nighthawks, the Vikings will host doubleheaders against Western Oregon (March 10), Concordia (March 11) and Simon Fraser (March 17).
