High school football all-state teams announced

The high school football all-state teams have been announced by the Associated Press.  Several players from Whatcom County have been named first-team all-state.

First team recognition in Class 2A goes to offensive lineman Jacob Kettels, linebacker Bodie Human and kicker Marko Samoukovic of Lynden, Bellingham defensive lineman Christian Butenschoen and Sehome defensive back Jay Travier.

In Class 1A making first-team all-state were Dylan Kaemingk of Lynden Christian as both an offensive and defensive lineman, kicker Blake DeRuyter of L.C., Meridian offensive lineman Adam Kruzich, and defensive back Kaleb Bass, linebacker Jay Allen and tight end Waylon Kentner of Mount Baker.
