High school basketball state action continues for six Whatcom County teams Friday


Four Whatcom County teams advance in the winner’s bracket to the Semifinals while two teams will fight for their lives in loser out games Friday at the SunDome. KPUG and KGMI have your coverage on all Whatcom County teams in an action-packed day three of the State Tournament.

On KPUG, the Lynden girls play first against North Kitsap in an early morning, loser out game with coverage starting at 8:45am and a 9am tip-off. The Mount Baker boys will follow fighting to keep their hopes alive in the tournament against the King’s Knights at 10:30am. The Nooksack girls take on Zillah in a loser out duel at 2pm. Then let the winner bracket’s semifinals begin with Lynden Christian boys battling Northwest School at 3:45pm as they try to advance to the Championship game against Zillah or Freeman. Friday evening, the Lynden Christian girls will take on Medical Lake at 7:15pm. All four games can be heard on KPUG 1170AM, 97.9FM and streaming online at KPUG1170.com.

On our sister station KGMI, the Lynden boys will go up against the Mark Morris Monarchs. Coverage starts at 7pm with a 7:15pm tip-off on KGMI 790AM, 96.5FM and streaming online at KGMI.com.
