SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Gonzaga basketball team has signed Filip Petrusev to a national letter of intent.

The 6-foot-11 forward from Serbia is considered one of the top prospects in European basketball.

Gonzaga says he played a key role in helping Serbia win the Under-18 European Championship this summer, averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.7 blocks per 40 minutes.

Petrusev recently enrolled at Montverde Academy in Florida.

He picked the Zags over scholarship offers from a number of programs, including Kansas, Virginia, Utah, Tennessee, Florida, Indiana and Stanford, among others.
