Funeral service for Curt Kramme to be held at Lynden High School

A funeral service for Lynden High School football coach Curt Kramme will be held at the the school’s Jake Maberry Gymnasium next month. LHS Athletic Director Mike McKee says the service will be held Saturday May 6th beginning at 1:00pm.

The Hall of Fame coach passed away April 22nd following a battle with signet-ring adenocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer.

Kramme led the Lions to the state playoffs 18 times. His teams advanced to 10 state title games, winning seven, most recently in 2013. In 26 seasons at Lynden, he compiled a record of 248-and-61.

The namesake of Lynden’s gymnasium, Hall of Fame LHS basketball coach Jake Maberry, also passed away this past weekend. Maberry was 86-years-old. Services for Maberry have not been announced.
