Ferndale 12U squad to play for Cal Ripken World Series title

The Ferndale 12U baseball squad will play for the Cal Ripken World Series title Thursday in Clemmons, North Carolina. According to discoverferndale.com, Ferndale advanced to the championship game with an 11-to-7 semifinal victory Wednesday over the New England regional champion, Washington Park from Rhode Island.

Ferndale plays the Middle Atlantic regional champions, Cedar Cliff. First pitch of the championship game is scheduled for 4:30pm. Fans can follow the action via the Clemmons World Series Facebook page.

Ferndale has posted a 5-and-1 overall record at the Cal Ripken World Series, including a 3-and-1 mark in pool play.
