Seattle Mariners fans got more than a season opening loss at Houston Monday. They got a scare about the health of Felix Hernandez.

King Felix made his 10th opening day start, allowed two runs and five hits while striking out six in five innings before leaving with groin tightness.

According to an MLB.com report, both Hernandez and Mariners skipper Scott Servais don’t expect Seattle’s ace to miss any time and to make his next start Saturday in Anaheim.  “It wasn’t bad, just a little tight,” Hernandez said. “I think I’m going to be OK.”

Hernandez came up limping after getting a late start covering a play at first base in the 4th inning. After a visit to the mound from the training staff, the right-hander stayed in the game, getting the final out of the inning.
