Canucks sign defenceman Erik Gudbranson to a contract extension

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenceman Erik Gudbranson to a one-year contract extension worth US$3.5 million, the club announced Thursday. The 25-year-old was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1st. The third overall pick by the Panthers at the 2010 NHL draft, Gudbranson has 12 goals and 37 assists to go along with 364 penalty minutes in 339 games over six seasons with Vancouver and Florida.
