Bells fall in Portland

The Bellingham Bells lost the opener of their series in Portland Tuesday night 5-1.  Portland scored four of their five runs in the third inning.  Derek Marshall’s RBI single in the 7th inning accounted for Bellingham’s only run.

The teams play again Wednesday night at 7:05 in Portland.

Five Bells were named West Coast League all-stars Tuesday.  Third baseman Troy Viola, outfielders Jack Machtolf and Guthrie Morrison and pitchers Nick Proctor and Jimmy Chatfield will play in the All-Star Game Tuesday the 23rd in Bend, Oregon.
