UNDATED (AP) — The Astros are heading back to Houston after salvaging the finale of their three-game series with the Texas Rangers at St. Petersburg, Florida.

Jose Altuve (al-TOO’-vay) hit a solo homer and Josh Reddick provided a tiebreaking, RBI single as the Astros downed the Rangers, 5-1. The Astros led just 2-1 in the eighth until Alex Bregman lined an RBI single and scored on Derek Fisher’s two-run single.

Chris Devenski worked 2 1/3 innings of hitless relief to get the win. Ken Giles pitched the final two innings for his 27th save in 30 opportunities.

The Astros don’t play again until Saturday, when they will begin a three-game series with a doubleheader against the visiting Mets. It will be the Astros’ first action in Houston since Hurricane Harvey ravaged the area.
