EVERETT, WA – The Everett AquaSox have officially named their Opening Night roster for the 2018. Players and coaches arrived in Everett late in the evening on Tuesday after completing a three-day mini-camp at the Seattle Mariners’ complex in Peoria, AZ. The roster includes 7 of the top 10 Mariners 2018 MLB Draft picks.

Highlights of the 2018 AquaSox roster include Logan Gilbert (first round), Josh Stowers (second round), and Matt Plassmeyer (fourth round).

Mariners’ first round pick, Logan Gilbert, is expected to join the AquaSox upon being signed. As a junior at Stetson University, Gilbert finished with a 2.52 ERA and an 11-1 record. The 6-foot-6, 225 pound right-hander recorded 157 strikeouts in 2018 – the most in NCAA Division-I Baseball this season.

Stowers (pronounced “stores”) was a star at the University of Louisville. As a junior, Stowers finished with a .336 batting average with 72 runs, 14 doubles, four triples, nine home runs, 60 RBI, 52 walks, and 36 stolen bases. At 6-foot, 205 pounds, Stowers has been described as a true center fielder whose great speed gives him the ability to make impressive plays defensively.

Several of the 2017 AquaSox are returning to Everett including Onil Pena (71 games in 2017, 1B), Ronald Rosario (40 games, RF), Troy Dixon (28 games, C), David Ellingson (16 games, RHP), Carlos Hernandez (2 games, RHP), and Cody Mobley (2 games, RHP).
