CLEVELAND (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations says free-agent first baseman Yonder Alonso and the Cleveland Indians have agreed to contract terms.

Alonso’s deal is contingent on him passing a physical, according to a person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because the agreement had not been announced.

USA Today reports that Alonso’s deal is for two years and worth $16 million.

If signed, Alonso, who turns 31 in April, will take over at first for Carlos Santana, who signed a three-year, $60 million contract with Philadelphia that was finalized Wednesday.

Alonso hit .266 last season for Oakland and Seattle, becoming a first-time All-Star and setting career highs with 28 homers and 67 RBIs. He has a .268 average, 67 homers and 306 RBIs in eight big-league seasons with Cincinnati (2010-11), San Diego (2012-15), the A’s (2016-17) and the Mariners, who acquired him in August.
