2018 Seattle Mariners caravan rolls into Bellingham Jan. 24

The 2018 Seattle Mariners Caravan stops in Bellingham on Wednesday, January 24 for a free public autograph session at the Bellingham Boys & Girls Club with outfielder Kyle Lewis, pitcher James Pazos, former Mariners catcher Dave Valle, broadcaster Rick Rizzs, and the Mariner Moose.

At various stops on the Caravan, current, former and future Seattle Mariners players, broadcasters and the Mariner Moose host assemblies for elementary school students, visit hospitals and host free public autograph and photo sessions.

While at the Bellingham Boys & Girls Club, the Mariners will meet with club members, offer tips on baseball skills and sign autographs for all fans. The session is from 4:45-6:00pm at 1715 Kentucky Street.

Kyle Lewis is the Mariners #1 Ranked Prospect according to MLBPipeline.com. Lewis was Baseball America’s College Player of the year in 2016 when the Mariners selected him with the 11th pick overall. A serious knee injury in July 2016 has limited Lewis’s playing time. However, he helped the Mariners Class A Modesto Nuts to the 2017 California League championship with a postseason average of .393, with 7 runs scored and 6 RBI.

Left-handed pitcher James Pazos made 59 appearances for the Mariners last season out of the bullpen. He ranked second in strikeouts among Mariners relievers (65), and was tied for second with four wins. Pazos was especially tough on left-handed hitters, holding them to a .218 batting average.

Rick Rizzs is entering his 33rd season as a member of the Mariners broadcast team. In 2017, Rick was honored with the Keith Jackson Award from the Seattle Sports Commission for excellence in communicating the sports stories of the state of Washington.
