KPUG Producer

Description: KPUG Show Producer with strong organizational skills with sound judgment. Assist the KPUG Brand Manager by booking live interviews for sports news and “The Zone” program. Record programs for future broadcasts. Download programs for podcast availability. Control prize distribution and on-air contest. Individual must enjoy deadline pressures and thinking quickly on his/her feet. Experience with on-line website maintenance critical, with an emphasis in all platforms of social media. This position requires variable shift availability as some nights and weekends are required. Candidate will have the ability to board-op when “The Zone” is on the road, or during sports broadcasts. Optimal candidate will have 1-2 years broadcast experience and be familiar with OMT, Adobe Audition, and Short Cut software. Excellent computer skills required as position also includes scheduling OMT. Produce and update on-air news and sports, commercials and promos as necessary, as well as local sports broadcasts.

KGMI Morning News Anchor/Reporter

Description: The Cascade Radio Group in Bellingham, WA has a rare opening for a top-notch morning news anchor for heritage news-talk station KGMI-AM. We are a small-market station with major market expectations, so our standards are high, as our 2006 Marconi Award and multiple Murrow Awards will attest.  Also, Bellingham is regularly named one of the best places to live and work in the US.

Experience:  The ideal candidate will preferably have at least five years’ experience in a news-talk format, have the ability to find, write and tell a great story, will have “major-league” on-air talent, understand and embrace the use of social media, work well with our established morning team members, and possess a great attitude. Candidate will have strong broadcast writing skills, on-air interviewing proficiency, digital sound editing experience, and sound news judgment.  Candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to juggle a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Job Description: INTERN

Looking for driven, qualified college-level interns to supplement the veteran-based staff of KPUG 1170AM – The Sports Leader. If you are interested in learning more about on-air work, music, promotions, marketing, or production, apply immediately! These internships fill quickly, especially with students needing work experience to qualify for graduation. Successful candidates will work directly with the program and promotions directors, and will be required to complete a number of different types of tasks. You may be required to do some minor lifting and set-up of promotional rigging for remote broadcasts and events.

These are non-paid positions, but we provide assistance with accredation through participating schools and programs in the state of Washington.
