The Zone Hits the Road!

The Zone is on the road Friday at the Lynden Pioneer Museum. Mark Scholten and Jennifer Zaremba will broadcast the Zone live as they get people signed up for the 2008 Lynde 500 Push Kart Derby..Come by and enter in for our Ultimate Sports Weekend giveaway, a package that includes tickets for two to the Huskies home opener against BYU September 6th, overnight accommodations at the Hotel Nexus and two tickets to the Mariners vs. Yankees game on Sunday.
Come by and get yourself signed up for the Lynde 500 happening Labor Day from 11:00am to 3:00pm in downtown Lynden. It's a 4-man relay race with three pushers and one driver. The prize for first place is $1000 with 100% of all proceeds benefiting the Lynden Pioneer Museum. The 9th Annual Hoop Jam

KPUG is excited to announce it is almost time for the Bellingham Parks & Recreation 9th Annual Hoop Jam 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The tournament will take place Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th in the Bellingham High School parking lot. The tournament offers divisions for 3rd graders up adults and divisions will be split up based on age and ability. Registration is going on now! Cost for 3rd through 12th graders is $80 a team; adults is $100 per team. To pick up a registration form stop by the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department at 3424 Meridian Street. Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann Reunited

KPUG's morning man Dan Patrick will be reunited with Keith Olbermann this fall on NBC football telecasts. Known as one of the best anchor teams for their time on ESPN's "SportsCenter," the duo will reunite on television beginning this September. Patrick will co-host NBC's "Football Night in America" and deliver highlights Sunday nights with his old ESPN pal Olbermann as they lead into the network's coverage of the NFL each week.

Patrick will also work some of the network's Olympic coverage starting with the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. Olbermann and Patrick have done radio together since their split in 1997, but this will be their first outing on TV together.
