Woman Faces Charges For Allegedly Stealing Property Taxes
MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (Metro) -- A 40-year-old Oak Harbor woman is due in Skagit County Superior Court tomorrow to face felony theft charges.
GoSkagit.com says former county treasurer's office employee Cynthia Mason is accused of stealing more than $19,000 while she was on the job.
Mason was responsible for processing property tax payments when the money came up missing.
If convicted, Mason could get ten years in prison and a fine of as much as $20,000.
