WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. (Metro) -- Whatcom County is launching a new program to provide transportation to eligible low income veterans.
The program matches each veteran with a volunteer driver to assist them in getting to medical appointments or grocery shopping.
Those who are interested in becoming a volunteer driver should contact the Whatcom Volunteer Center at 360-734-3055.
Veterans in need of transportation assistance can access the program by calling County Veteran Assistance Program at 360-715-7453, or by contacting the Whatcom Volunteer Center.
