Washington Unemployment Down, Jobs Up In September
OLYMPIA, Wash. (Metro) -- Unemployment came down last month here in Washington as the number of jobs rose.
The state Employment Security Department now estimates the unemployment rate at 8.5 percent, but job growth was still barely noticeable at 1,200.
The department also said August actually produced 2,500 jobs, more than double the original estimate.
