Southbound Border Traffic Reaches 15 Year High



BLAINE, Wash. -- Southbound border traffic into Whatcom County is at a 15-year high. 

The Bellingham Herald reports that last year, 15.4 million people crossed the Canada/U.S. border into Whatcom County. 
 
That number is more than eight percent higher than the previous year. 

It's also the highest annual total since 1997, when 18.3 million people came into Whatcom County. 

Border traffic is expected to increase again this year.
