Rep. Larsen Applauds Senate on Violence Against Woman Act

Bellingham, Wash. -- 2nd District Representative Rick Larsen applauds the Senate passage of the Violence Against Women Act and calls on the House to do the same.

Larsen says the bill would expand protection to Native American women, immigrants and LGBT victims.

The expansion has been a sticking point in passing the bill that was rejected late last year.

Larsen co-sponsored the original House version of the bill and believes the bill has a good chance of passing the House this time.

Larsen has held a series of discussions in the last year and met with advocates for domestic violence victims throughout the district, including Bellingham.
