NTSB Rules Out Battery Overcharge In 787 Fire

WASHINGTON D.C.  (Metro)  -- The National Transportation Safety Board says it's ruled out excess battery voltage as a possible cause of a fire on a Boeing 787 on January 7.

NTSB officials say the lithium-ion battery on board that plane was not overcharged.

The battery is manufactured by GS Yuasa of Japan, who's cooperating with the NTSB investigation.

Boeing officials say the company won't deliver more 787s until the Federal Aviation Administration issues instructions on how to prove the lithium ion batteries are safe.
