Motorcyclist Dead After Crash Near Deming

DEMING, Wash. -- A man is dead in eastern Whatcom County after a fatal motorcycle collision.

Troopers say the 65-year-old man rear-ended a box truck waiting at the intersection of Mount Baker Highway and Marshall Hill Road.

Witnesses tell troopers the man was going the speed limit of about 45-miles-per-hour on Mount Baker Highway at the time of the crash this afternoon.

Troopers say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The victim’s identity will be released once his family is notified.
