More Drama In Pacific As City Clerk, Police Fired

PACIFIC, Wash. (Metro)  -- More people have been fired in the town of Pacific, a week after Mayor Cy Sun was arrested by his own police for trying to break into the city clerk's office.

A city councilman tells komonews.com that City Clerk Jane Montgomery is out of a job and she's not alone.

The four cops involved in the mayor's arrest have also been fired by the mayor himself.

The mayor claims Montgomery is responsible for his arrest by locking the office and leaving the keys with police.

In June, Montgomery was locked out of her own office.

Then last week, Mayor Sun was accused of trying to get into that office amid allegations he destroyed city records.

Montgomery will meet with Sun today, for a chance to explain why she should keep her job.

One of the police officers will have a pre-termination meeting with the mayor tomorrow.

Earlier, he fired the town's police chief and other city officials.

So far, Mayor Sun has not been charged with any crime.

Sun promised to clean up corruption in the town when he was elected.
