The group will make its first appearance at the five-year-old hard rock awards ceremony in May.
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and Rob Zombie will also be honored at this year's ceremony, while Anthrax, Stone Sour and Five Finger Death Punch will join Metallica among the performers for the Los Angeles event.
