Man Tries To Abduct Girl In Bellingham

Bellingham Police are investigating a report of an attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl.

The girl told officers she was walking home from Parkview Elementary School at about 4 p.m. Tuesday when she saw a man standing outside of a van in the 700 block of West Indiana Street.

She says the man told her to get into the van, but she shouted "no" and ran off.

He chased her for a short distance but she believes he then got into the van and drove off.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, in his 20’s with short hair and wearing a gray T-shirt and tan shorts.

His vehicle is a black full-sized van with a single window in the back and tinted windows on the sides.
