Kidnapper Arrested In Bellingham

A Bellingham man is apprehended for forcibly abducting a female driver, but officials are still wondering how many victims he left in his wake.

Twenty-eight year-old James M. Craver was arrested in the late morning Wednesday on charges that he broke into a Skagit County woman’s car near West Bakerview Road and Eliza on Tuesday and forced her to drive him around.

It was initially thought that the suspect was carrying a box cutter before finally getting into the woman’s vehicle.

Police Department information officer Mark Young says that the suspect was identified and apprehended without incident by a corrections deputy who spotted Craver walking along Pacific Street in Bellingham.

Officials are concerned that Craver might have terrorized even more people prior to the abduction.

Anyone who feels they were victimized is asked to come forward.
