Home prices in the top 20 markets rose nearly seven percent last year, the largest yearly gain in the S&P/Case-Shiller index since 2006.
Seattle saw an eight-point-two-percent rise in home prices, while Portland had a six-and-a-half-percent increase.
Phoenix led the way with a 23-percent gain.
Record-low mortgage rates and a smaller supply of homes for sale helped drive up prices last year.
