Edmonds Astrophysicist Finds Planet That NASA Missed

EDMONDS, Wash.  (Metro)  -- An Edmonds man is one of a handful of people who can say they've actually discovered a new planet.

Eric Agol is an astrophysicist at the University of Washington.

Komonews.com reports he was looking at data from the Kepler telescope, which monitors 150,000 stars, when he saw a planet that NASA scientists missed.

Agol's planet is small and because it's 1200 light years away, cannot be seen in the night sky.
