Delbene Says Buget Is Wrong Direction

Washington State -- Congresswoman Suzan DelBene says the budget proposed by the Republican-controlled House would take the nation in the wrong direction.

The 1st District Democrat says the new approved House budget bill is uncompromising and decimates the investments the government has already made in healthcare.

DelBene says she is concerned about aging Washingtonians, since the budget includes turning Medicare into what she calls a voucher program.

DelBene is hopeful legislators will come together in their next vote to focus on spending money more wisely.

She says they need to eliminate tax policies that give special exemptions to companies that don’t need help and need to invest more in education and infrastructure.
