Congresswoman Tours County To Discuss Immigration Reform

1st District Congresswoman Suzan Delbene is gauging local opinion on immigration reform.

She’s headed to Whatcom and Skagit counties this week to host roundtable forums on the issue.

Whatcom Farm Friends Executive Director Henry Bierlink says comprehensive reform is needed to help our region’s AG industry thrive.

Bierlink also believes reform must simultaneously incorporate paths to citizenship for good workers, a guest worker program and border security enforcement.

Delbene will be at the Whatcom Farm Friends’ office in Lynden at 9:30 Tuesday Morning, followed by forums at TC Trading in Blaine at 11:30 and at Super Mario’s restaurant on Northwest Ave. in Bellingham at 1:30 p.m.

She will make multiple stops in Mount Vernon on Thursday.
